Just home from lovely tunes in Padraicin’s in Furbo with the great Johnny Connolly and Steve Sweeney. Flutist and radio presenter Caoimhín O Sé also joined us for some tunes which was a splendid surprise.  Looking forward to the beautiful drive from Galway to Clifden tomorrow and a gig with Darren Roberts in the Station House Hotel there. VERY excited about a gig in June 2015, just confirmed, at The Westport Bluegrass Festival. With five-string banjo virtuoso Lena Ullman and in the great company of old-time fiddler and singer Rayna Gellert, Locust Honey and The Henry Girls.

Ahead of the Concerts at Kinvara’s Johnston Hall and The Ranelagh Arts Festival, Ged Foley and myself will guest on Vinnie Browne’s Art Show on Galway Bay FM tomorrow, Friday 26 September.

Had a mighty cd launch gig at the Phil-Murphy Weekend in the company of the great Ged Foley on guitar. What a pleasure. And Martin O’Connor, Donal Lunny and Róisín Elsafty played a treat  after! It was a whirlwind of a week, but a very pleasant one. With The Molly Hicks, I guested at the Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival in Waterford. A great night, a lot of impromptu music and a lot of fun. After that a wonderful few days in Kinnitty Castle, in Co. Offaly. Some inspiring and wonderful music from Norway and Cap Breton and Ireland :- and just some wonderful old and new friends. Gig tonight in the Station House Hotel in Clifden with Darren Roberts. I am delighted that Steve Sweeney and Ged Foley will join me for two more upcoming CD release gigs at the End of September in Kinvara and in Dublin and we are putting some very special material together. (check out the gig calendar)  Last but not least, Féileacán na Saoirse has received extensive airplay on RnaG and ClareFM’s Westwind with Caoimhín Ó Sé.
