We very much enjoyed our return gigs in Zethau and in The Pfarrscheune Schenkenberg! Back to finishing recording with Lena Ullman, to teaching and to some fantastic tunes with Johnny Connolly and Steve Sweeney yesterday in Padraigin’s in Furbo. Feeling very lucky!

Galway Fringe Festival THIS SUNDAY
had an amazing time at Rudolstadt Folk Festival with Murray & Falkenau. Fantastic Gigs. Back in Galway. A two day heatwave has struck and tomorrow is promised to be the hottest day of the year; what a balsam for the soul! :- And besides sessions on Thursday and Friday night in Spiddal and Furbo, really very much looking forward to playing a show, the final show in fact, of The Galway Fringe Festival, at De Burgos with very fine New York Singer – Songwriters Ryan Langlois, Emily Mure and Murray and Falkenau…. promises to be a great night. Both Emily and Ryan lived in Galway some years back; kind of a re-union gig…

Ceili House and more
a week and weekend of music…a rake of sessions, World Fiddle Day today, and tomorrow night listen into RTE’s 1 Ceili House 9pm to catch Steve Sweeney and myself playing a rare version of The Old Swallow’s Tail and The Yellow Tinker, recorded at The Droighnean Donn in Spiddal two weeks ago. It features a host of fantastic musicians, Dordon, The Lennon’s, Johnny Og Connolly, The Gannon’s and many more….check out the calendar for session events this weekend.
Ceili House recording and Sessions
Delighted to be part of a session of Ceili House that will celebrate festivals taking place in Spiddal. This program will feature a host of musicians living in and associated with music in Spiddal:
The Lennons, The Connolly’s, The Giblin’s, Dordon, Porterhead, Colm & Kelly Gannon and Steve Sweeney & Anna Falkenau.
Everybody welcome to listen to the recording session; essential to be in the venue by 6.45pm.
Steve and myself will also play a session afterwards in An Droighneann, promising to be a lovely night of music.

This Monday Upstairs at Roisín Dubh
Hope you all had a great weekend. I am playing at The Roisin Dubh tomorrow night with the wonderful Lena Ullman on five-string banjo.
We’ll be playing a set of some old-time, irish and brand-new compositions. Part of The MnáMná Monthly Music night. Also on the bill are Ruth Smith of the Evertides and Tracy Bruen. Promising to turn out a lovely night. Doors from 8pm and €5 on the door.
Spring in the Air
Days are getting longer. Trees nearly green. Looking forward to a couple of sessions this Thursday night and Friday night in Spiddal and in Furbo. Ceili House will be recorded in Spiddal in May and I am very happy to be part of the ‘House Band’. Will post more details closer to the date. And a great night in honour of Johnny Connolly will be coming up Friday May 13th in the Park Hotel in Spiddal. It will be a great line up! Meanwhile you can catch himself, and Steve Sweeney and myself in Padraigin’s this Friday. Such wonderful nights of music!
