Teaching

Anna is a compassionate and qualified teacher (BMUS with distinction, MMUS). Her Motto ‘Inspired Learning in a Friendly Environment’ encapsulates her positive approach to teaching, taking into account differing  individual modes of learning. Concentrating on Irish Traditional Music and American Old-Time music, she has valuable experience teaching in a wide variety of settings: private lessons one-to-one or in small groups, in the class room and at festival workshops.
She currently teaches Traditional Irish Fiddle Classes at the Moycullen Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, at The Athenry School of Music, Tin Whistle at St. Annin’s NS, Roscahill, Fiddle at Scoíl Bríde in Lackagh as well as privately.  Her students have successfully competed at Provincial and All-Ireland level. The age of her students ranges from the very young to young-at-heart students and Anna enjoys the variations in teaching methodology this requires. For her private Galway students, Anna runs a Christmas and a Summer Concert, usually at the The Crane Bar in Galway, a venue famed for its superb sessions and concerts.
